I have to say that this was one of the best Mother's Day weekends I have had so far. My only complaint is that that it went by too quickly. We spent the weekend on the coast in a quaint little beach house tucked away in what is easily a little slice of heaven on earth. My husband's second cousin owns the place and they rent it out to family and friends. This was our first time staying there, but I can guarantee we will be back...often. Here's some pictures from the weekend.
This is the front of the beach house.
This is the view from the deck. Not too shabby!
We enjoyed lunch with a view from the kitchen window
We flew kites
We played peek-a-boo
We climbed rocks
We discovered fantastical creatures on the beach
And we played with wet, sandy beach dogs
It was truly a wonderful weekend

Oh man, that place looks incredible. Next time you go, can I come with? Please? I'll leave the family at home....

Awesome!
SOunds like the perfect weekend!
Did not know where to leave this so I thought here would be as good of place as any.
Belize is my all time favorite place in the world. I want badly to move there but R won't go for it. He loves his movie theaters and book stores and seems to get restless after about a week on the island. We visit Ambergris on almost a monthly basis. Of course being in Dallas it is a short 2 hour flight. I took Hope in October last year for a quick trip to snorkle at Hol Chan and then took her back last month for 8 days. She loved it, loved the freedom, the children everything about the place. I worried that she would get bored but she was in heaven and could have stayed as long as I would have allowed. I love the children there, they are all so polite and also love the way they welcomed Hope into their group as a friend. They played soccer on the beach until late in the night and taught each other dances. Where did you go on your visit?
Wow, the view from that house is amazing! Where is that place?
Looks like a great time was had by all.
