One of my favorite bloggers, Linda of All & Sundry, wrote about her holiday weekend in 46 words or less which I thought was just brilliant. So brilliant in fact that I just might start writing all of my posts this way....starting with this one.
My Memorial Day weekend in 46 words or less....
Two cookouts, watermelon covered kids, homemade Marionberry cobbler with vanilla ice cream, delicious cheeseburgers, time spent with great friends, farmers market, swimming lessons, sunshine, gardening, riding bikes, trips to the park, one really great nap, popsicles, laughter, fun, two exhausted little boys on Monday night.
And you?

A movie, a cranky two year old, smuggled snacks, a missed nap, visits with the cousins, cooking for the throngs, sloppy joes, connolis, coffee to keep me alive, a really cranky two year old, seven kids screaming, pizza, more screaming, good-byes, and slacking on a Monday.

That was a great idea actually, keeping it that simple would really make blogging a breeze wouldn't it?
I love Sundry, she's one of my all time favorites too.
It sounds like you had the perfect weekend!
Very nicely done!
that sounds like a normal rockwell rendering of memorial day! you have such a charmed life, mrs. crazy.
My dear Bex - Thanks for the sweet comment, but my secret is I just make it sound like I have the charmed life. I left out the "whining, kids nonstop bickering, oldest son picking his butt NONSTOP, and cat barf on couch" because I didn't want to gross anyone out! HA!
What a cool idea. I'm not sure I could do that. I'm too rambley! Is that a word? Probably not. I'm always using words that don't actually exist. I can't seem to use words that do exist. It is more fun to use words that don't...am I still typing? OK. I'm going to stop now.
What a great weekend. I am all for the 46 words of less however make sure you take time to document those very important memories in detail for your little ones that won't remember over time. I promise you they will appreciate it more than you will ever know.
That is so sweet! We had unexpected family! It was awesome and exhausting!
